After a jury trial, Rodricus Izal Thomas was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of theft by shoplifting, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and theft by receiving stolen property. On appeal, Thomas enumerates two errors: (1) the trial court failed to instruct sua sponte the jury on his sole defense of coercion; and (2) trial counsel was ineffective because he insisted that Thomas testify but did not adequately...
