Following a bench trial, the defendant, Arthur Stephens Campbell, was convicted as charged of armed robbery and simple kidnapping. The trial court adjudicated him to be a second felony offender. As such, he was sentenced to 51 years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence on the armed robbery charge.
