David Eugene Wright was charged in Hennepin County with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. The assault charges stemmed from an incident in which Wright allegedly pointed a firearm at his then-girlfriend and her sister. Shortly before Wright's trial was to begin, the district court determined that the girlfriend and her sister were unavailable witnesses...
