On 7 July 2004, Dwight McDougald ("defendant") was arrested and subsequently indicted on charges of trafficking in methylenedioxyamphetamine ("MDA"), trafficking by possessing MDA, and conspiracy to traffic MDA. Defendant was arrested, along with Kathryn Powell ("Powell"), in conjunction with an undercover drug sale coordinated by Detective Aaron Griffiths ("Griffiths") of the Greensboro Police Department.
