Defendant, Vincent Ray Verret, was charged by grand jury indictment with one count of aggravated rape, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:42, and pled not guilty. Following a jury trial, he was found guilty as charged. Defendant moved for a new trial and a post-verdict judgment of acquittal, but the motions were denied.
