On October 5, 1998, a jury convicted the defendants of murder in the first degree, as joint venturers, by reason of deliberate premeditation. The defendants appealed and filed various motions for postconviction relief in the trial court that were denied by the trial judge. The appeal was entered here in September, 2000.
