Following a bench trial, defendant, Jorge A. Moreira, was convicted of home invasion (720 ILCS 5/12-11(a)(2) (West 2004)) and residential burglary (720 ILCS 5/19-3(a) (West 2004)). The trial court denied defendant's motion for a new trial and sentenced him to concurrent 12- and 10-year terms of imprisonment.
