Jomill Gonzalez was convicted by a federal jury of possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute the drug in connection with a planned sale that took place on August 10, 2005. Gonzalez had driven to the sale in a car owned by one of his codefendants that contained approximately one kilogram of cocaine hidden in a secret compartment.
