Calvin Nichols filed an application for adjustment of claim pursuant to the Workers' Compensation Act (Act) (820 ILCS 305/1 et seq. (West 2000)). According to Nichols, he sustained a work-related injury when he slipped and twisted his back while in the employ of respondent, St. Elizabeth's Hospital (St. Elizabeth's). The arbitrator found that Nichols' condition of ill-being was causally related to his employment...
