¶ 1 In all three cases before us, the plaintiffs properly initiated lawsuits against the defendants. In all three cases before us, the defendants failed to file answers or otherwise formally appear. In two of these cases, plaintiffs successfully moved for default judgment. And in each of the cases, the Court of Appeals decided that the default judgments should be set aside.
