Appellant Kevin Edwards challenges his conviction of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, arguing that he was denied a fair trial because the attorney who represented him was suffering from mental illness during the trial. Appellant argues that an attorney's mental illness during the representation is presumptively prejudicial and should qualify as structural error.
