Petitioner Roberto Peralta-Taveras ("Peralta"), a native and citizen of the Dominican Republic, seeks review of a July 8, 2004 order of the BIA affirming the January 16, 2004 decision of Immigration Judge ("IJ") Michael W. Straus denying Peralta's applications for waiver of deportation under former § 212(c) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. § 1182(c) (repealed 1996), and cancellation of removal under § 240A(a) of the INA, 8 U.S.C. § 1229b(a).
