STATEMENT OF THE CASE:

On August 19, 2005, in case number 462-293 "C", the state filed a bill of information charging defendant, Martha Chambers, with possession of cocaine, in violation of La. R.S. 40:967(C)(2). Defendant pleaded not guilty at her arraignment on August 24, 2005. A hearing on motions was set for September 13, 2005 but, because of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the district court was closed...
