Jose Ares ("Ares"), the defendant-below appellant, appeals from a final judgment of conviction entered by the Superior Court. Ares was indicted on charges of (among other things) first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. A jury found Ares guilty of second-degree murder and assault in the first degree.
