This case arises from a dog bite suffered by the plaintiff, Jacalynne Becker ("Becker"), which occurred when a dog owned by the defendant, Stephen R. Keasler ("Keasler"), bit Becker while she was walking by his home in New Orleans. The trial court awarded Becker $2,243.59 in special (medical) damages and $35,000.00 in general damages, plus costs and legal interest from the date of judicial demand...
