MURPHY, Circuit Judge.

Stacy Altonen, a lieutenant in the Minneapolis Police Department, sued the City of Minneapolis and Chief of Police William McManus under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, alleging retaliation in violation of the First Amendment for her support of a competing candidate for chief. The district court1 granted defendants' motion for summary judgment, and Altonen appeals. We affirm.
