The defendant, Janis Walder, was charged by bill of information with 123 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals in violation of La. R.S. 14:102.1. She initially pled not guilty to all charges. Prior to trial, the defendant withdrew her not guilty plea and pled guilty as charged. Following a thorough Boykin examination, the trial court accepted the defendant's guilty plea.
