The parties were married in July 1996. Plaintiff commenced this divorce action in July 2002. Defendant counterclaimed for divorce and the matter proceeded to a bench trial. Supreme Court granted plaintiff a divorce based on cruel and inhuman treatment, denied defendant a divorce on her alleged grounds, denied defendant's request for maintenance and distributed the parties' property.
