William Ellis, former bishop of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Morgan Park, Illinois, pleaded guilty to one count of willfully making and subscribing a false income tax return, in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 7206(1). At sentencing, the district court found that Ellis had abused his position of trust and had obtained over $10,000 in illegal income without reporting it.
