John Maloney ("Maloney"), the petitioner, originally sought review of a decision by the court of appeals affirming a circuit court order denying his motion for postconviction relief.1 In his postconviction appeal and initial review before this court, he contended that he was afforded ineffective assistance of trial counsel. We rejected Maloney's claim
