This case arises from a dispute about the amount of child support owed by Thomas Byers to Sandra Ovitt on behalf of their son, Kristerfer Byers. In December 2003 Ovitt moved for a modification of the court's initial child support order, claiming that purchases made by Byers showed that he had more income than he had disclosed to the court.
