Melvin Lee Mays was convicted of five counts: (1) possession with intent to distribute 50 or more grams of cocaine base, (2) possession with intent to distribute powder cocaine, (3) carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, (4) being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and (5) having been convicted of a crime of violence and being in possession of body armor.
