The verdict was based on legally sufficient evidence and was not against the weight of the evidence (see People v Bleakley, 69 N.Y.2d 490 [1987]). We reject defendant's argument that the evidence established no more than a simple, nonforcible purse snatching. On the contrary, the evidence established that defendant used and threatened the immediate use of force to facilitate his theft of the victim's purse, by blocking the victim...
