A jury convicted appellant Efrain Yanez of capital murder of a child and attempted murder of the child's mother and stepfather.1 The trial court assessed the automatic life sentence on the capital murder offense, and a jury assessed punishment at a life sentence on the second count, after finding the enhancement allegation true.
