This case relates to the bankruptcy of Johns-Manville Corporation ("Manville"), the world's largest supplier of asbestos. Under pressure from asbestos litigation, Manville filed for bankruptcy in August 1982 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (the "Bankruptcy Court"). Since Manville's bankruptcy filing, asbestos plaintiffs have also tried to sue insurers of Manville...
