Factual Background

In 1998, the trial court dissolved the marriage of Mr. Shaune Lapee (Father) and Ms. Sarah Rose Lapee Snyder Hanson (Mother) and awarded sole legal and physical custody of their child, Dakota to Mother1 and denied Father visitation rights. Father had been convicted of assaulting Mother and did not appear at the hearing.
