I. INTRODUCTION

We have permitted an owner of property to obtain loss of use damages for the reasonable period of time required to make repairs to the property damaged by a lessee or bailee.1 We are now asked whether a lessor may obtain loss of use damages even where the lessee caused the property to be totally destroyed and not repairable. We hold that such damages are recoverable...
