Upon receipt of plaintiff's motion for a default judgment against defendant John Johnson, defendant moved to dismiss the complaint against him for lack of personal jurisdiction on the ground that he was not properly served with the complaint, and the court ordered a traverse hearing. The special referee who presided over the traverse hearing found that personal jurisdiction had not been properly obtained over defendant.
