Following a bench trial, the defendant was found guilty of aggravated rape in violation of La.R.S. 14:42 and aggravated incest in violation of La.R.S. 14:78.1. The defendant filed a motion for new trial, which the trial court denied after conducting a hearing. For the aggravated rape conviction, the defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. He was sentenced to twenty years...
