HICKS v. STATE

No. 360, 2005.

913 A.2d 1189 (2006)

Ricky HICKS, Defendant Below, Appellant, v. STATE of Delaware, Plaintiff Below, Appellee.

Supreme Court of Delaware.

Decided: December 6, 2006.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

John F. Brady, Esquire, of Brady, Richardson, Beauregard & Chasanov, Georgetown, Delaware; for Appellant.

Kim Ayvazian, Esquire, Deputy Attorney General, Department of Justice, Georgetown, Delaware; for Appellee.

Before STEELE, Chief Justice, BERGER and JACOBS, Justices.

JACOBS, Justice.

Ricky Hicks ("Hicks"), the defendant-below, appeals from a Superior Court judgment of conviction following a jury trial. Hicks claims that the Superior Court reversibly erred in three respects, namely: (i) by denying Hicks' motion for a new trial claiming newly discovered evidence; (ii) by excluding evidence of a prior crime committed by the State's trial witness; and (iii) by denying Hicks' request to impeach the State's expert.
