In October 2002, plaintiff filed a lawsuit against defendants alleging that defendant Kownacki, a priest within the Catholic Diocese of Belleville, sexually abused him between 1973 and 1978. Among other allegations, plaintiff alleged fraud and conspiracy against the Diocese, alleging that the Diocese knew that Kownacki had molested a child at another parish before transferring him to St. Theresa's School...
