On November 8, 2004, Police Officer Angela Garofalo, her partner, and several school safety officers were assigned to maintain crowd control over protesters who had gathered in front of the High School of Art & Design. Her duty was to ensure that the protest did not interfere with the dismissal of the students or otherwise impede pedestrian traffic outside of the school.
