The defendant, Poncho Medina, was charged in the circuit court of Cook County with the offense of possession with intent to deliver more than 400 grams, but less than 900 grams, of a controlled substance (cocaine), in violation of section 401 of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act (Act) (720 ILCS 570/401 (West 2002)). Following a jury trial, the defendant was found guilty and was subsequently sentenced...
