Defendants, Sandra Haissig and Edward Golden, were convicted of two counts of theft of over $100,000 from their employer, Abbott Laboratories (Abbott) (720 ILCS 5/16-1(a)(1)(A), (a)(2)(A) (West 2000)). The issue on appeal is whether the trial court that granted defendants' postconviction petitions erred in refusing to grant their requests for leave to file late notices...
