On November 15, 2003 the defendant Romallis Stukes was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, charges to which he subsequently pled not guilty. On October 25, 2004 a jury found him guilty of two counts of aggravated battery. At sentencing on January 21, 2005 Stukes filed a motion for new trial and for post verdict judgment of acquittal.
