Johnny Lee Davis appeals the district court's denial of his 28 U.S.C. § 2254 habeas corpus petition. Davis pleaded guilty to attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon and was sentenced to two consecutive fifteen-year prison terms. He argues that his trial counsel's failure to investigate and present mitigating evidence at his sentencing hearing was constitutionally ineffective assistance of counsel.
