¶ 1. The University of Mississippi Medical Center ("UMC") appeals the judgment of the Circuit Court of Hinds County finding it liable under the Mississippi Tort Claims Act for the death of Robert Peacock and awarding his son the statutory maximum judgment at that time of $250,000.1 On appeal, UMC argues that the trial court erred by accepting the expert designation and testimony of Dr.
