In this appeal, we are asked to determine whether the clerk of the district court correctly taxed each jointly tried defendant convicted of a simple misdemeanor a jury fee of $100 pursuant to Iowa Code section 625.8(1) (2003) and a court reporter fee of $15 per day pursuant to Iowa Code section 625.8(2).
