¶ 1 BROWN, J.

Jeffrey Grumbeck appeals the property division in his divorce from Barbara Grumbeck. The circuit court found that Jeffrey's shares of two businesses were gifts and were therefore nondivisible. It awarded the shares to Jeffrey but then divided the remaining estate unequally, giving Barbara extra assets amounting to exactly half the value of Jeffrey's shares. The end result was that Jeffrey and Barbara each received the same total award
