We grant the petition for writ of certiorari because the correct procedures were not followed in the assertion of a claim for punitive damages.

In count one of the complaint, Manuel and Lisa Fuentes sued Alida C. Reinoso for negligence. In count three, the plaintiffs asserted a claim for punitive damages against defendant Reinoso.*
