¶ 1. Lecia Fair Jones began a dating relationship with Terry Dukes in 2001. Dukes was out on parole after having served nine years of a fourteen year sentence for aggravated assault committed against his former wife. On December 24, 2001, Jones and Dukes had a physical altercation in which Dukes pushed Jones down through a glass coffee table.
