Stephone Taylor appeals the Montgomery Circuit Court's denial of his petition for postconviction relief filed pursuant to Rule 32, Ala. R.Crim. P. The petition sought relief from his August 1998 conviction, entered pursuant to a plea of guilt, for second-degree robbery, for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment. No direct appeal was taken, but Taylor did file a Rule 32 petition for postconviction relief in 1999; the trial court denied Taylor's petition...
