Ronald Kenneth Casper entered an Alford1 plea to burglary. I.C. § 18-1401. In exchange for his guilty plea, additional charges were dismissed including an allegation that Casper was a persistent violator. In January 2002, the district court sentenced Casper to a unified term of ten years, with a minimum period of confinement of three years.
