Charles E. Winston was convicted by a jury of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine base ("crack cocaine"), in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 846, 841(a)(1), and 841(b)(1)(a). The district court1 sentenced Winston to 262 months' imprisonment and ordered the entire sentence to run consecutively to the state murder sentence Winston was serving in Kansas.
