By motion for new trial, Gilbert Ramirez alleged that premature jury deliberations or conversations had deprived him of a fair trial. Stating that "even if it happened" it "would not be a basis for granting the motion for new trial," the learned trial judge denied the motion, ruling that, whenever a jury's deliberations occur, they inhere in the verdict.
