Petitioner, a Jehovah's Witness, appeals from an order issued by the Multnomah County Juvenile Court authorizing the administration of transfusions using whole blood products despite petitioner's religious beliefs and the wishes of his parents. Petitioner asks this court to establish a common-law "mature minor" exception to the statute that allows a judge of the juvenile court to authorize emergency medical care.
