Defendant, Joel Jeffers, was charged with driving under the influence (625 ILCS 5/11-501(a)(2) (West 2002)). Defendant moved to quash his arrest and suppress his statements. The trial court denied defendant's motion to quash his arrest but granted his motion to suppress his statements. The State filed a certificate of impairment and appealed pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 604(a)(1) (188 Ill.2d R. 604(a)(1)). The...
