Following a jury-waived trial, a District Court judge convicted the defendant of distribution of a class B substance (methylenedioxy methamphetamine, commonly known as "ecstasy") and distribution of a counterfeit substance, both in connection with a March 22, 2001, sale to an undercover detective.
