A jury convicted Steven E. Whiting of converting funds withdrawn from employee paychecks and making a series of false statements relating to health care matters at two companies, Badger Die Casting, Inc. and Western Rubber, Inc., in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 664, 669, and 1035. The funds were intended for payment of health insurance premiums, self-funded health benefit programs, and a 401(k) fund. Whiting was sentenced to 90 months...
