This case concerns the propriety of a trial judge's comments after jury deliberations had commenced in a criminal trial, in responding to a jury note stating that an unidentified juror did not trust the police under any circumstances. On July 3, 2003, a jury found Anthony H. Butler guilty of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance...
